ABSTRACT

In the research, the researchers are focusing on the students who are taught using advanced Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tools and they have to produce solutions to small engineering design problems working in teams. Today students are more into ICT and thus using the technology are extremely demanding. The proposed learning environment provides the technological framework and experiences they will meet in their future working environment. The e-learning or e-resources is useful in connection with problem-solving projects to deal with object visualization problem in a first-year technical drawing course.

RESEARCH FINDINGS

As a teacher, I could use ICT as one of the resources for the students to think creatively especially in engineering design problem-solving. There are two types of teaching method which are done and can be done:
1) traditional method of teaching - still image transparencies, chalkboards with large manual drawing instruments and physical mock-ups, small projects, etc).
2) ICT-based teaching method - interactive white board, show video on the particular topics.

RELATIONS TO MY TEACHING METHOD

1) show videos on related topics so that the students could visualize technical drawing.
2) if possible, usage of ICT in college should be upgraded so that students could learn comfortably.
3) study visit to relevant companies which is design company for the students to see clearly drawing being produce.
4) divide the students into group for team work.
5) using blog for students to understand more on technical drawing.
6) fun activities interaction with students
